|Rajan Rajendran Vice President of Engineering Services and Sustainability
Dr. Rajendran is responsible for technical support to OEMs and end users for the company’s refrigeration business. He has worked at Emerson since 1990 in various capacities, first as research engineer and later in the scroll compressor product development group as manager and finally as director for ten years. He is extremely knowledgeable in alternate refrigerants as they pertain to air conditioning, heat pump and refrigeration systems in the United States, Europe and Asia. He also serves on committees at the Air Conditioning and Heating Institute (AHRI) and Underwriters Laboratories (UL), especially the Low GWP Alternative Refrigerants Evaluation Program Task Force at AHRI and the Working Groups for A2L Refrigerants at UL. Rajan Rajendran earned his undergraduate mechanical engineering degree from the University of Madras (India) and his Masters and Ph.D. in mechanical engineering from Iowa State University in the United States. He also possesses an MBA in Finance from Wright State University in the U.S.

Dennis has worked in the electrical industry for 22 years receiving his formal training through IBEW Local Union 134 Joint Apprentice Training and Washington University in St. Louis.
|Don Newlon Vice President, Marketing and General Manager, Integrated Product Division
Don’s background includes roles in engineering, product planning and marketing. He was instrumental in the launch of open-drive scroll as well as Emerson’s first marine scroll product. He possesses a B.S.M.E. from the University of Cincinnati and a MBA from The Ohio State University.
|Mitch Knapke Market Manager, Refrigeration
Mitch has worked for Emerson Climate Technologies since 2004 in a variety of engineering, product development and marketing roles. As market manager, food retail, Knapke is responsible for developing the strategies and tactical plans to help bring the company’s food retail compressors to market. He is the co-inventor and patent holder for the capacity modulation system on the Copeland Discus compressors.
|Scott Lanzer Marketing Manager – Digital Media, Air Conditioning
Scott has spent over 25 years in the RHVAC industry. He started working as a Supermarket Field Service Technician with RHVAC contractors in the Pittsburgh area, before accepting a role with Copeland Corporation in 1993. His background with Copeland products includes: Copeland Engineering – OEM Systems, Emerson Educational Services, and Service Aftermarket Sales and Marketing. His current role specializing in digital media, has allowed him to bridge the gap with respect to marketing to contractors. Mixing modern marketing techniques with real world experience has help to expand product knowledge throughout the service channel. His channel insight has been published in several technical trade articles and has been a featured speaker at industry association events; RSES, LINK, ComforTech.
|Sarah Jordan Forecast Manager, Air Conditioning
In this role Sarah is responsible for analyzing market segment trends and forecasting sales and orders as part of the Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process for the air conditioning business. Sarah is a degreed metallurgist and a graduate of a Bachelors of Science from The Ohio State University with an MBA from Carnegie Mellon University.
| Andre Patenaude Director – CO2 Business Development
André is responsible for developing the global strategy around the company’s CO2 industry stewardship, channel training and educational programs as they relate to utilizing CO2 in refrigeration systems. André is a Certified Engineering Technologist in mechanical engineering from Algonquin College (Ottawa), and has served as director of the Manufacturer’s Division of HRAI Canada. He is an active member of the RSES, OACETT, and ASHRAE.
|Dean Landeche Vice President of Marketing — Retail Solutions
Dean M. Landeche is vice president of marketing for Emerson Retail Solutions. In his role at Emerson, Landeche is responsible for leading the global marketing efforts for controls, connectivity, monitoring, services and insights for the food retail, foodservice, commercial building and transportation industries.
Dean has more than 30 years of experience in general management, communication and marketing leadership roles within leading foodservice equipment organizations. Prior to his current role at Emerson, Dean has served as executive vice president of Manitowoc KitchenCare, the aftermarket business for Manitowoc Foodservice. He has also served as senior vice president of marketing for Manitowoc Foodservice, and vice president of marketing for Enodis Foodservice, and Hobart. Outside of the foodservice industry, Dean has held marketing and communication leadership roles with Alcoa Building Products, General Electric Plastics and Louisiana State University.
Dean has served in a variety of volunteer leadership roles with NAFEM, MAFSI and FCSI. He’s been recognized by B2B Marketing magazine as a “Top 10 Marketer of the Year”, and has received the prestigious William A. Marsteller Marketing Leadership Award from the Business Marketing Association (BMA) and Business Week magazine.
Dean holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Louisiana State University along with graduate-level studies in public relations and communication management.
|Paul Hepperla Vice President, North American Solution Sales
Paul Hepperla is vice president of North American solution sales at Emerson. In his current role, Paul is responsible for developing new opportunities, strategic growth and sales for Emerson’s enterprise services within key retail end user verticals.
Previously, Paul was vice president of corporate and product strategy for Verisae, Inc., responsible for company strategy, business development and partnerships. Prior to Verisae, he was the director of energy & operations services at Supervalu. Earlier in his career he held business development, account management and sales roles with Xcel Energy, Johnson Controls and Building Automation Products.
Paul holds a bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering from St. Louis University.
|Reggie O’Donoghue Director of Product Management, Retail Solutions
Reggie O’Donoghue is the director of product management at Emerson Retail Solutions in Kennesaw, Ga. Previously, he was the director of marketing and enterprise product management at Retail Solutions. Reggie has been with Emerson for more than seven years and started as a strategic planner at the company’s corporate headquarters in St. Louis, Mo.
Prior to joining Emerson, Reggie held a variety of engineering and marketing roles at Motorola.
Reggie earned a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Tuskegee University; an MBA from The University of Texas at Austin; and a master’s degree in electrical engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology.
|Ron Chapek Director of Product Management — Retail Solutions
Ron is a director of product management responsible for ProAct™ Enterprise Software/Services. Over his 30-year career in sales and product/strategic marketing management roles, he has focused on bringing new products to market for the PC-based data acquisition, industrial automation/process control-SCADA and intelligent building segments.
Most recently, his focus has been on leveraging new software tools/platforms to better serve the multi-site retail segment. Areas of focus include: intelligent alarm/event monitoring; device networking/integration (IoT); fault detection and diagnostics/FDD; highly scalable data warehousing; and enterprise-level analytics.
|John Wallace Director of Innovation, Retail Solutions
John Wallace is director of innovation, retail solutions at Emerson. He has been active in the design and development of electronic control systems for more than 20 years and holds several patents related to the control of HVAC and refrigeration systems.
He is a member of ASHRAE and has served on many industry committees, including: the Lonmark Refrigeration committee; the Department of Energy’s Better Building Alliance; the NAFEM (North American Food Equipment Manufacturers) Data Protocol standardization committee, which he currently chairs; and the AHRI Air Conditioning & Refrigeration Electronics section.
John graduated from the University of Kentucky with a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering and the University of Missouri with a master’s degree in electrical engineering.
|James Mitchell Product Manager, Enterprise Services, Retail Solutions
As a product manager within Emerson’s Retail Solutions business, James (Jim) Mitchell is responsible for energy and maintenance applications and services. With more than 20 years of industry experience, he has worked with various retail customers on facility HVACR, energy and maintenance solutions, including chain-wide performance contracts with energy-saving initiatives such as controls and equipment upgrades, lighting retrofits and enterprise-wide building energy management system upgrades.
Jim earned a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Auburn University.
